Wool for carpets can be compared to wood for furniture. Perhaps few people know that wool can be divided into several categories. The wool quality also varies with the weather and environment of regions where sheep are raised. The high-quality wool suitable for weaving carpets should be of a medium-fine variety. The wool fiber is long, tough, and elastic, with no or very little dry, dead hair. It has a silky luster. These parameters largely determine the touch, texture and visual effect as well as the service life of carpets. The processing methods of wool (shearing, washing, combing, spinning, etc.) determine the quality of woolen yarn.

After many experiments and comparisons, we finally found a high-quality carpet wool - Lincoln wool, named after the sheep first produced in Lincolnshire in Britain. Among more than 40 kinds of traditional sheep in Britain, Lincoln sheep may be the largest and have the longest and strongest wool. The average diameter of Lincoln wool is more than 40 microns (the average diameter of Merino wool is less than 20 microns). The wool fiber length is more than 20 cm with excellent luster. This kind of thick and long wool is very suitable for making carpets.
